Strategic Graphic Designer

I am 43 years old and currently reside in London, UK. Having gained my GCSE's and A-Levels I enrolled in a short foundation course (1 year) in Art and Design at the University of Hertfordshire in which I was able to explore various creative disciplines from fine art and sculpture to ultimately my real passion graphic design.

Following this I obtained a 2:1 Bachelors Degree in Graphic Information design at the University of Westminster. Here I was able to develop my design skills and grasp a better understanding of design psychology, why things are designed the way they are. I found the course to be extremely useful in how good design creates a synergy between both aesthetic and function, both of which I believe to be the fundamental principles in design that is viable and works in our day to day lives.

I spent 6 years at a branding and packaging agency working as a strategy leader in delivering strategically defined and highly creative design solutions which adhere to my clients needs and expectations. I worked across a number of exciting design briefs across diverse sectors such as FMCG, Personal Care, Energy and Food and Drink in emerging markets such as India and MENA (Middle-East, North Africa). This provided me with valuable and unique commercial experience from creating initial concepts to the realisation of the final product.

I transitioned in to an in-house design role for 4 years with a direct mailing company specialising in providing everyday product solutions for the mature market. Here I worked closely with the marketing team and third-party partners in developing a range of ad-hoc marketing material to raise company awareness and brand recognition. I have now moved in to the education sector working as an in-house designer in producing various digital and marketing material.

I am able to offer services in strategic consultancy supporting SME companies within the UK. This includes branding (identity and packaging), web design, and print based marketing material.

Additionally, I am continually looking to gain new skill sets in the emerging graphic/design disciplines and current market trends.

Aside from working in my spare time I enjoy reading fantasy books, going out and socialising with friends for dinners, listening to music, watching various genre films and TV shows. I also love to cook and I am an avid football fan.
